For some godforsaken reason, we were SLAMMED last night.
We haven’t had a wait on a thursday night in probably, a year or more! So everyone is running around like crazy, the kitchen is fucking up orders left and right because they are understaffed. House Salads are taking 15 minutes because the Dishwasher(WTF?) is at Plate Nacho making appetizers and salads.
(I rang in Green Bean Fries, add side ranch. He gave me a side of bacon. Seriously.)
So in the middle of all this, they are making a billion changes to our store with the new GM, and she is chainging table locations. Something that hasn’t been fucked with in about 10 years. So now, in addition to the 11 tables in my station, I am now responsible for a table that used to belong to the bar.
Everyone still thinks it belongs to the bar.
So some servers (still in their Black Angus Shirts!!!!) walk in a saunter over and sit down at this table. I run over to greet them and explain that this table is no longer apart of the bar and because there is a wait if they want to sit here they might have to add their names to the wait list.
They start whining and I ask the SPG if the wait is that bad. She shrugs and says “No one wants to sit there anyways. Its too close to the bar.” Sweet. So I go over to give them the good news.
They stayed about 3 and a half hours, drinking like fishes. (I get it, I’m an alkie too… especially after a bad night.)
They were really nice and understanding to the fact that I was WEEDED.
I had 9 tables total. And they were all drinkers! I didn’t turn one table past 9:30, and I left at 1 AM. So I was running around, waiting for bar drinks because the Service Bar was weeded.
I hooked them up and made sure that all of their drinks and app’s were Happy Hour, etc.
When I dropped the check she is really nice, gives me a little note with all the different card names and how much to put on each one.
2 cards run for 40$, 1 card for $27.15 and $20 cash. ($127.15 total bill)
My tip?
11 dollars.
Now I really want to go into Black Angus and weed them, and then tip 8%.
It sucks because I have regulars that work at BA that ALWAYS hook me up. I was really disappointed.
