Three Course Menu

Posted by Cassy on November 28, 2007

3CourseMenuIt is FINALLY over!

Yes, The dreaded FRiDAY’s 3 Course Menu. Appetizer, Entree and Dessert, all for $12.99. I admit, before I worked at FRiDAY’S, I ordered this once. ONCE.

This brings in the lowest of the low. The worst – when people find ad’s for it in their papers, and bring it in thinking it’s a coupon. Those are always the scraglers. The white trash in sweatpants stained with who-knows-what and dandruff filled hair. I cringe every time I approach these tables. They make me feel like I have to take a long hot shower after work.

There is a slight swell of pride in my chest, when someone demands our 3 course menu, and I get to tell them…

“Oh Miss, I am SO SORRY! The 3 Course Menu Promotion Ended Last week! Would you like to add a caeser salad or a cup of French Onion Soup to your meal tonight?”

Adieu, 3 Course Menu.

I know we will meet again, and I will continue to fight you.

Carol, The Crazy Margarita Lady

Posted by Cassy on November 28, 2007

We used to have an older lady who would frequent our store 3-4 nights a week. Always sitting in the same area of small booths, and ordered the same drinks and meal.

She would order a grand margarita (slushied – not on the rocks or frozen) with an extra shot in the drink, and then a shot on the side to sip. I guess the super strong marg was a chaser for her shot?

I dunno.

Anyways, she would have usually 2 rounds and some salmon, and take some mashed potatoes home for her kitties.

She frequently would either give me her entire wallet instead of the check presenter back, try to pay the bill 3 or more times, or think she payed the bill and add a tip and sign the actual reciept, while her card was in the check presenter.

She was kinda looney, and a drunk.

But she was really nice and would always ask about our lives and such, even though she didn’t remember who we were the next night.

The added bonus – not only was she fun to watch, (once she tried to open locked cupboards by the service bar, and asked me why the bathroom door was locked, and when did we move the bathrooms?)

But she always tipped 40 bucks or more. Once she gave me 100$ on 50$.

Her tab usually was about 50.

I don’t know if it was alzheimers or something of that kind.

Eventually we had to stop serving her because one night she could find her car in the parking lot and a hostess had to drive her home in her car with a busser following in his car to bring the hostess back.

I miss her crazy antics.

(I have to admit, I miss the money too)

Are you kidding me?

Dear Customer Who Has No Idea What Restaurant They Walked Into;

I understand that your are very busy and probably have very little to no time to give to the minor details in life. However, how you came to walk into, be seated, and have a MENU RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, and STILL have NO IDEA where you are at at this exact moment in time is, well, a little mind boggling for me, to say the least.

I know, I know, you are on your phone and because that device is glued to your ear, you are unable to properly drive/walk/function until your so-important conversation is over.

Unfortunetly, next time you interrupt me while I am talking to another table to yank over to your table only ask me this annoying question, “AM I IN APPLEBEE’S?” (Side Note: Why must you yell into your phone, and then to me. Do you have troubles adjusting your voice?)
I will stop only to inform you that you did not walk into Applebee’s (or T.G.I. Friday’s, where your stupid self actually is), but into Dante’s 5 Circle Of Hell. And I Hope You Drown.

Thank you,

Your Future Waitress

Upsetting, but comforting

Posted by Cassy on November 5, 2007

I just found out that our GM’s last day is tomorrow. They are transfering her to another store. The story is that the other store sales sucks, and she is going there to help revive it, but we all know that they are bringing in another manager because we are getting a new store in the new year.

It sucks, because I’ve been working with her for the past two years. It’s going to be hard having to impress someone new all over again.

But, good because she wasn’t the world’s greatest manager, and alot of anger amoung the servers was because of her.

Still, going to be hard.
